Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) is a form of therapy that uses specially designed stainless steel tools to locate and treat soft tissue disorders. Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (or TMD) refers to pain and/or tightness in the jaw, face and neck caused by a dysfunctional jaw joint. There are many contributors to TMD, including stress, clenching the jaw or grinding teeth, which can all over-activate and fatigue the jaw muscles. This condition can be treated with a variety of techniques including Soft Tissue Therapy, Mobilizations, Adjustment and Rehab Training.
